This event for the club has proved very popular – so expect an excellent day.
The event is jointly run with our hosts, The Real Aeroplane Club. In addition to our cars, the Vintage Aircraft Club will be doing fly-ins, the Real Aeroplane Club will have all their aircraft on display with guided hanger tours available and there will be other veteran cars and bicycles there too.
The location is Breighton Airfield YO8 6DS, which is at the south west corner of the former WW2 RAF Breighton. Please note the following:
– The former RAF base is now an industrial estate accessed from the B1228. There is no route into the airfield from this direction.
– The recommended route is from the A163, taking Breighton Road in the middle of Bubwith. The airfield will be on your left about 1m south.
– There is an alternative route from The A63 at Loftsome Bridge via Wressle and Breighton villages. This is not recommended as much of the route is single track with difficult passing and hazardous dropped verges.
– If travelling from the Hull area, the best route is probably to go to Howden via the M62 and/or the A63, take the B1228 north, past the Breighton Industrial Estate to the A163 and turn left to Bubwith. From Bridlington/Driffield, take the A614 to Holme on Spalding Moor and the A163 to Bubwith.
Our marshalling team will be there to greet you and direct parking. Please use your mirror hanger or have your entry form visible to distinguish you as an EYTCC member.
The event runs from 1000 to 1600. Please do not arrive too early as our hosts have various tasks to perform to set the day up. The event is open to others and to the public, so please take care and do not move your vehicle during the day without marshals directions.
The clubhouse will provide catering facilities offering a full range of food, drinks and ice cream – possibly even a barbecue if weather permits.
